Have a GREAT Independence Day
I think this one is pretty self-explanatory. Fireworks, the downtown Cincinnati skyline, featuring the Great American Tower, and the Fourth of July!
This was so much fun to make! Here’s a few of my favorite elements:
The fireworks will sometimes explode on top of the red branding bar. This red bar is used across Great American Insurance Group Property & Casualty pieces, from brochures, to ads, to internal emails, and you’ll see it on most social media posts as well. So why not take something we use constantly, and tweak it just a little bit to make it a little more interesting? Or in this case, make a tweak to another element so that it interacts with this static element!
The transition from fireworks show to the message. I started this animation with ‘Have a GREAT Independence Day’ in the upper left corner while the fireworks went off around it but it felt so awkward up there. Fireworks nearby or overlapping made the text hard to read and it looked like an after thought, so I decided to give the text its own screen. At the same time, I wanted the text to connect to the animation. The final transition was inspired but those huge, beautiful gold fireworks that fill up the entire sky. When this giant fireworks clears out of the sky, it leaves behind a quick holiday message.
